Galvanized steel wire described in this specification is mainly used as a reinforcing core for aluminum conductor steel reinforced ACSR conductors.
The steel core should be greased with a suitable type of grease which with stand high temperature up to 180 ºC.
Galvanized steel core wire is stranded wires as indicated below.

Standards:
The latest editions of the following standards are applicable:

Quality:

Hot dip galvanized steel standard wires are used as core of conductor 

1. Galvanized steel wire strands core is coated as per the required standard specification.

2. The materials used in manufacturing steel core: Wires comply with the requirements as chemical Composition, mechanical properties and  electrical properties prescribed in the required standard specification.

3. The wires are smooth, free from une qualities, spills and Splits imperfections to manufacture and surface defects.

4. An internal layers for steel earth wire conductor should be greased.

5. The weight of zinc coating shall be accord with IEC 60888 clause 11 class I (table ΙΙ).

The above indicated length per drum is the minimum, we supply multiple of it per each order of customers.

Mechanical Properties:  
According to the steel size and class as specified in ASTM B 498 , IEC  60888 , BS  EN 50189 the  tensile and elongation specified. The tensile strength grade as listed.

Galvanization:  
Steel wire should be galvanized by hot dip, and zinc weight is specified according to the classes as ASTM B 498 , IEC 60888 , BS EN 50189. We also supply other classes of zinc coating upon request.

Finishing and Appearance:  
We supply galvanized steel core wire with uniform quality and supplied in form of drums in one continuous length without any kind of joints. Wires are clean and free from any defects.

Packing and Marking:  
The galvanized steel wire for ACSR 70/12mm2 is supplied on wooden drums, the drum dimension should suit the cutting length.
The drum dimension is approved before delivery to suit machine. Drums are strong  enough to avoid damages during transportation, handling and storage. With each drum a tag including the supplier name, purchasing order number, box number, wire size, net weight and gross weight.
